Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Warren County. FRANK Y. PATTERSON was born in Tennessee in 1829, and is a son of Lawson and Mary E. (Youree) Patterson. He is of Irish origin - his grandfather immigrated to this country in 1852. Frank T. was reared to farm life and received a common school education while a resident of Tennessee. When twenty years of age he went to California and made his start in life in the gold mines; he came here and bought the farm on which he now lives. After "keeping bachelor's ball" for a short time, he became disgusted with that kind of life and married Margaret Proctor, of Warren County, a daughter of James and Sally Proctor. His wife died about five years after mariage, leaving two children: Mary L. and Sally B. Two years later he married Sarah M. Shaw, of this county. They have six children: Addie B. (the wife of Charles Moore), John S., Frank Y., James R., Emma E. and Anna M. He has been a farmer most of his life, except while in California; he owns a fine farm known as "Clifton," which is well stocked and well improved. Mr. Patterson is an Odd Fellow, a Democrat and he and wife are members of the Missionary Baptist Church.
