GRAHAM, judge of the court of appeals, was born May 17, 1799 in Rockingham county, Virginia. His father moved to Kentucky when he was seven years old and settled finally at Bowling Green. His early education was secured at the hands of Rev. John Howe, at Queensburg, Kentucky. He studied law under the guidance of Solomon P. Sharp and was admitted to the bar in 1820, entering at once upon the practice, in which he achieved fame and secured the confidence of the people. He was appointed judge of the circuit court in 1831 by Governor Thomas Metcalfe, resigned in 1837, and was re-appointed by Governor James Clark. On the 1st of May, 1849, he was appointed by Governor John J. Crittenden to the appellate bench. He retired from office on the adoption of the constitution of 1850, and was again elected judge of the circuit court of the Bowling Green district. He died in October, 1866.
