DEARING, contractor and builder, was born in Allen County, Ky., in 1845; is a son of Willis and Catherine G. (Burton) Dearing, and of English origin. His parents were also born in Allen County, in 1816 - both on the same day. When Drewry B. was six years of age he came with his parents to Warren County, and here his father died in 1859. His mother still resides in this county. In 1858 Drewry B. left home and began life for himself. Immediately he went to Indianapolis, Ind., and there served a regular apprenticeship at the carpenter's trade. Remaining in that city for four years, he came to Kentucky, and in this State has since resided. In 1872 he came to Bowling Green, and here has continued his trade. Among the public buildings that he has assisted in erecting are the hotel at Grayson Springs, and the court houses at Leitchfield, Morganton, Elizabethtown, Mt Vernon and Monticello. The marriage of Mr. Dearing took place, in 1873, with Sallie L. Cunningham, of Leitchfield, Ky. To this union four children have been born: Eulah C., Hallie B. (deceased), Catherine and Charles A. Mr. Dearing is a Democrat, a Mason and a member of the I. O. O. F. He and wife are members of the church. In January, 1885, Mr. Dearing formed a partnership in the building and contracting business with John Donnelly. This firm does an extensive business, and is one of the principal and responsible contracting firms of southern Kentucky.
