JOHN CLARK was born in Logan County, this State, in 1824, and is a son of Zadok and Lucy (Griffin) Clark, native Kentuckians. John Clark knows little of his father, as he died when he (John) was but a litle child. He lived with his mother until grown, receiving a common school education. He married, in 1846, Sarah M., daughter of Edward Maxey, of Warren County. This union was blessed with eight children, six of whom are living: Mary M., Monroe W., E. M., J. U., B. T. and Sarah M. all married. The following two are dead: Joseph A. and J. W. He served three years is the Fifteenth Federal Cavalry, Col. Netter commanding.
