BROWN, Warren County, was born in Scotland in 1845, and is a son of Alexander and Caroline (Fraser) Brown; his grandparents were Robert and Annie (Thompson) Brown. James F. came to the United States in 1873, and located at Bowling Green. He married the same year, October 19, Catharine McDonald, daughter of Hugh and Sally (Robinson) McDonald. He engaged in general merchandise at Rockfield, in this county, in January, 1874, and is an energetic and enterprising business man. He is agent of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company; also of the Adams Express Company, and is also deputy county clerk. He belongs to the orders of the Odd Fellows and Masons, and politically is a Democrat. He is a member of the old Presbyterian Church, and his wife of the Methodist Church.
