Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Warren County. E. T. BARR, dental surgeon, was born in Crawfordsville, In., in 1854; is a son of Thomas and Martha (Tipton) Barr, and is of English descent. The parents of Dr. Barr were born in Montgomery County, Ky., but removed to Indiana in the early days of the State, and there resided a number of years; then returned to their native State, where the father died in 1865, at Elizabethtown. Dr. Barr was educated at the public schools, and at Wabash College, at Crawfordsville, Ind. He began the study of dentistry in 1870, under Dr. Totten, at Crawfordsville, Ind., and the following year located at Elizabethtown, Ky., where he began the regular practice of his profession, and here continued for five years, and then came to Bowling Green, where he has since continued doing business. He is a leading dentist, and is doing a successful practice. He married, in 1881, Mary Anderson, of Memphis, Tenn. To this union has been born one child, Lockwood A. Mrs. Barr was born in 1860. The Doctor is a Democrat, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, of which his wife is also a member.
