EURY HEDGES was born in Virginia in 1803, a daughter of John B. and Margaret (Osborn) Thurman, both natives of Virginia. J. B. Thurman was a son of John and Nancy, who were also born in Virginia. J. B. was a Revolutionary soldier. Mrs. Thurman was a daughter of John and Rachael (Mead) Osborn. Our subject was married November 20, 1820, to Robert W. Hedges, of Virginia, son of John and Mary (Wells) Hedges, and had ten children--four living: Stephen (who married Mary Slaughter, and has four children: John M., Malissa, Hillrey and Tilford), Hillery (who married Cora Skeell, and had three children: Samuel, Lillie and Ella), Eliza M. (who married Huston Hedges, and had three children: Annie, J. B. and T. G. Hedges), and Robert C., who was born March 20, 1849, and is at home with his mother. Robert C. is a Democrat.
