Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 1887, Unknown Co. HENRY P. FIX, a farmer and stock grower at Fix's Landing, was born in Bethlehem, Ind., November 22, 1824, the fifth of a family of nine children born to Henry and Sarah (McKinley) Fix, natives respectively of Virginia and Kentucky. Henry Fix was a carpenter and farmer, and resided in Indiana until a short time before his death, which occurred January 9, 1875. His wife died June 7, 1863. Our subject was reared on the farm, the pursuits of which he has followed since boyhood. In 1845 he moved to Kentucky, and purchased land where he has since resided, about 285 acres. June 26, 1849, he married Martha A. Black, born March 2, 1827, a daughter of James and Mary G. (Campbell) Black, of Bourbon County. To this union six children were born: Corinne, Sarah R., James H., Jacob C., Mary G., and Mattie Florence. Mrs. Fix died September 9, 1877, and Mr. Fix married, for his second wife, Martha A. Richardson, daughter of John H. and Rebecca A. (Wood) Richardson, natives of New Jersey. She was born February 5, 1851, and has borne her husband five children: Millie Houston, Henrietta, Carroll C., Oral Fay and Willie May. Millie Houston, the eldest, and Willie May, the youngest of the five, are dead. Mr. Fix is a member of the Reformed Christian Church, and Mrs. Fix is a member of the Baptist Church.
