Anna Lee (Owens) DeMoss, of Union County, KY, was born Dec. 13, 1946 in 
Union County, KY.  She was the daughter of Hubbie Lee Owens and Lillie 
Evelyn (Hazel) Owens of Union County, KY.  She attended school in 
Sturgis and Morganfield, graduating from High School in Morganfield, Ky 
in 1964.

Around 1962 a young boy started coming over to their house, located on 
Lizard Ridge Road in Dekoven, on the pretense of seeing her brother, but 
after two years, she married this boy.  July 18, 1964 in Grangertown, 
Union County, KY, Anna Lee Owens married James Allan DeMoss. 

They celebrated 31 years together before Mr. DeMoss' death in 1995.  She 
became the mother of two children, Scarlett Maria DeMoss b. Oct. 1966, 
and Mark Allan DeMoss b. Aug. 1972, both born in Union County, KY.

Anna is a registered Democrat and a faithful member of the Grangertown 
Baptist Church in Grangertown, KY.  There at the church, she teaches the 
adult women's Sunday School class, as well as participating in other 
activities when the time works out right.  She has also taught or helped 
with Bible School for many years at this church. 

Anna belonged to the Dekoven Homemakers Club before they disorganized, 
helping to quilt many quilts, doing fund raisers, having parties for 
the kids of the community, and helping out with the Chili Suppers to 
help fund the building.  During her children's younger years in school, 
she was a room mother, or volunteering to help out in some way for 
school activities.  Whether it was supervising, providing snacks, 
helping with crafts, or whatever other activity, she was available. 

Anna enjoys reading, being with friends, attending church, and always 
has flowers every year in her yard.  She also still quilts when she has 
the time as well as crocheting and knitting.  Now that her husband is 
deceased, the yard work is hers to do and is even starting to enjoy all 
of the sweat of yard work, at times.  She is the grandmother of 3 
granddaughters and 1 grandson, Laken Troutman, Whitney Green (her son's 
step daughter), Rebecca DeMoss and Cory Troutman. 

She currently works at the Sturgis Pants Factory in the shipping 
department.  The Factory is due to close within a few weeks but, hope 
is that another company will buy them out and keep them open.
