Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Trimble Co. ZACHARIAH T. WOOD was born in Owen County, Ky., August 17, 1847, the fourth of five children born to William A. and Eliza J. (Morgan) Wood. William A. Wood was born in Owen County, Ky., in 1818, and was a son of Abner and Mary Wood, natives of Virginia, but early settlers in Kentucky. ELiza J. Morgan was a daughter of Samuel Morgan, a native of Virginia, but an early settler of Kentucky. William A. was a farmer all his life, in 1859 moved to Trimble County, and located near where his son now resides, but afterward moved to the place now occupied by our subject and there died in 1868. His widow is now the wife of Granville Clayton, of Lexington, Mo. Our subject settled on his present place in 1865, has seventy-five acres of fine land and has always engaged in farming. November 26, 1868, he married Bettie Alexander, a daughter of Angras and Dorothy (Taylor) Alexander, of Owen County. To this union one son and one daughter were born: Dixie J. and Willie A.
