Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Trimble Co. LEONARD G. PEAK, postmaster at Bedford, Ky., was born in Trimble County May 15, 1829, is a son of Christopher and Lucinda (Campbell) Peak, and was reared on the home farm until eighteen, when he began to learn the carpenter's trade. In November, 1861, he volunteered in Col. Giltner's Fourth Kentucky Cavalry, was in active service two years, and then resumed his trade and engaged in contracting. In 1850 he married Miss Cyntha Romans, who died in 1853. In December, 1856, he married Miss Susan Goode, a native of Henry County, Ky., and daughter of Lemuel Goode. His two children are George A. and William S. Peak. August 16, 1868, he superseded A. J. Gideon as postmaster of Bedford.
