Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Trimble Co. WILLIAM C. MORGAN, master commissioner of Trimble County, was born in that county January 10, 1859. His father, William R. Morgan, was for many years sheriff of Trimble County, but by occupation a farmer. His mother was Jennie E. (Yager) Morgan. The former died in 1878 and the latter in 1869. Our subject is the eldest of five children, the others being Lucian B., Orval T., Hattie B. and Albert S. He was reared to farming pursuits, which he followed until 1883, when he sold his farm, and engaged in the mercantile business at Bedford, and was thus engaged until 1884, when he closed out, and has again turned his attention to agriculture. In 1886 he was appointed master commissioner of Trimble County, and is the present incumbent of that office. In January, 1887, he was appointed deputy county and circuit court clerk under Messrs. Logan and Lee. In 1879 he was a partner with Ellis and Tague, editors of the Trimble County News. May 20, 1880, he married Miss Henrietta Obrien, daughter of John R. and Martha J. Obrien, of Trimble County. To this union were born two daughters and one son: Orval L., Mattie. and Mary B., all of whom are living. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
