[Wallonia Precinct] ROBERT WADE was born December 29, 1824, in Montgomery County, Tenn. He is the seventh child of a family of twelve born to Peter and Elizabeth (Wortham) Wade. The former was born in Halifax County, Va.; he died in October, 1860, aged seventy-two. The mother was born in the same county and State in 1796; she died in 1866. Our subject was brought to this county with his parents in 1832. He assisted on their farm till [sic] the age of twenty-one, since which time he has been carrying on business on his own account. He lived on a rented farm from 1860 to 1863, and then bought his present farm, which consists of 216 1/2 acres. Mr. Wade was married in September, 1861, to Miss Nancy J. Brandon. She was born in Trigg County. They have four children--three sons and one daughter. They lost William Lee September 1, 1883, aged seventeen. Lucy Jane died in 1881. Mr. Wade is a member of the Masonic fraternity, and a life-long and devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South.
