YOUNG was born November 5, 1845, in Logan County, Ky., where he grew to manhood. He removed to Todd County in 1870, where he has since resided. His father, Robert H. Young, was born Petersburg, Va., and died in 1874, aged sixty-one years. He was the son of John Young, a native of Virginia, who removed to Kentucky about 1832, where he died. Robert H.'s wife (subject's mother) was Mary, daughter of Alexander McElwain, of Todd County. To her and her husband were born: Charles T. William K., Alexander F., Robert D. and John W. On November 29, 1871, Robert D. was married to Miss Sarah M., daughter of James and Fannie C. (Thornhill) Deeds, of Todd County, born 1851 and died 1876, and to them was born one son--James B. Mr. Young next married March 15, 1877, Miss Nellie E., daughter of John R. and Amanda (Burge) Muir, of Todd County, and from this union sprang: Flora., Mary A. and Robert O. In 1882 Mr. Young was elected Magistrate of Trenton District, which position he fills with honor. He is a farmer by profession, having 350 acres of good and productive land, in a high state of cultivation. His residence was recently consumed by fire, and he is now engaged in construction on that will be an ornament to the neighborhood.
