STINNETT, son of Noel N. and Margaret (Winders) Stinnett, was born in Todd County, September 16, 1838, and is the second of a family of eleven children, born to these parents. His grandfather, Benjamin Stinnett, was a native of Ireland and came here when young, to what is now Todd County, where he married and reared his family, and where he spent his life. He was a Baptist minister, with the duties of which he combined agriculture. His son, Noel N. Stinnett, was born in this county, of which he is now an honored citizen, and as above noted, married Margaret Winders by whom he had eleven children. William W. was reared to the pursuits of the farm; was married in Christian County, February 19, 1862, to Miss Sarah B. Fourqurean. She was born, February 14, 1841, in Logan County, Ky. They have a family of five children, viz.: Ella B., born December 25, 1862; Willie A., born February 8, 1870; Charley W., born January 1, 1872; Ida May, born July 14, 1874; Maggie Booth, born September 2, 1876. Mr. Stinnett was elected to the position of County Constable, in which office he served five years; then served for two years as Deputy Sheriff, and in 1874, was elected to the office of Sheriff of Todd County, re-elected in 1876, serving two terms, since the expiration of which he has served two years as Deputy Sheriff. He is now Marshal of the town of Elkton; is a member of the Baptist Church, I.O.O.F. and Masonic Order.
