Kentucky: A History of the State. Perrin, Battle & Kniffin, 6th ed.,1887, Spencer Co. MRS. SALLIE A. COLLINGS was born in Garrard County, Ky., a daughter of Samuel B. and Rosanna (McDonald) Jennings. To this union were born thirteen children, eight of whom are now living, viz.: Sallie A., John B. (born March 10, 1820, married February 23, 1842, to Sarah Romans, of Garrard County, Ky., daughter of William Romans; they have one child - Sallie A., who married Mr. Blankenship and had two children: Samuel and Susie. John B.'s wife died in 1871, a member of the Christian Church, of which he is also a member, and who makes his home with our subject, superintending her farm), Alexander R., William, George E. and Zerelda are twins. Our subject married, September 24, 1846, John H. Hinds, of Garrard County, Ky., who died September 23, 1865. She then married, November 8, 1868, Dr. F.B. Collings, of Spencer County, a son of Ben Collings. Dr. Collings was quite a noted physician and surgeon, and died September 30, 1883, a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Collings is also a member of the Baptist Church, and owns 155 acres of land.
