DR. HENRY M. LOWRY was born in Shelby County, Ky., January 27, 1851.  His
father was Dr. James Lowry, a native of Ireland, who came to America in
the early part of the present century, settled in Fayette County, Ky.,
read medicine, the removed to Shelbyville, Ky., where he married Miss Helen
Bullitt, and practiced his profession until his death, in 1876.  Dr. Henry
M. Lowry received his preliminary education at Prof. Dodd's academy, at
Shelbyville, and after reading medicine graduated from Louisville Medical
School.  He began and still continues practice at Shelbyville, and has
been very successful.  He first married Amanda Davis, who died in 1883,
and in 1886 he married Miss Anna B. Logan, of Lexington, Ky.  The Doctor
is a member of the Presbyterian Church.
