Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, ed. 8-B, Pulaski County N.D. Stigall, drugist of Burnside, KY, was born in Pulaski County, KY, February 14, 1863, and is a son of Fontain and Fannie (Tucker) Stigall. Fontain Stigall, also a native of Pulaski County, was born December 10, 1813, married Miss Tucker January 22, 1850, and is now a prominent farmer in his native county. For eight or ten years he was an extensive stock-dealer, but of late years he has devoted his time to agricultural pursuits. He is a son of Thomas Stigall, a native of Virginia, who married Mariam Harris, and was one of the pioneer settlers of Pulaski County and a farmer all his life. Fannie (Tucker) Stigall was a native of Tennessee, was born November 20, 1827, and was a daughter of John and Elizabeth Tucker, the former a soldier in the war of 1812. N.D. Stigall is one of a family of ten children, whose names are as follows: George B., Ballie, Thomas, Nora, Coleman, John, N.D., Lizzie, Mattie, Willie. N.D. Stigall was reared on a farm, received a good common-school education and at he age of eighteen commenced to teach school, which occupation he followed two years, reading medicine in the meantime. In 1884 he opened a drug store at Burnside, where he has since resided. July 15, 1885, he married Laure Golden. One child has blessed their union, viz: Clarence. Mr. Sigall is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, is a member of the K. of H. and a Master Mason; he is the present Master of his lodge.
