Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Pendleton Co. WILLIAM J. RULE, a merchant at Falmouth, Pendleton Co., Ky., was born in that county, April 16, 1856, and is a son of William C. and Annie (Brann) Rule. William C. Rule was born in Pendleton County, May 5, 1821, was raised a farmer, and received his education in his native county. Annie Brann was a native of the same county, and was a daughter of Thomas Brann, of that county. William J. Rule was educated in Pendleton County, and in 1879 was married to Miss Ruth Perrin, daughter of William J. Perrin. In 1882 he engaged in the clothing and furnishing goods business at Falmouth, and is the owner of the building containing his store, as well as other town property. He has two children: William S., aged six years, and Perrin, aged three. He is a member of the city council, and politically a Republican.
