Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Pendleton Co. ALBERT B. COLBERT was born in Pendleton County, Ky., March 22, 1859, and is a son of Jesse and Sarah A. (Bradford) Colbert, the latter a daughter John Bradford, of Pendleton County. Jesse Colbert, a native of Virginia, was born September 20, 1834, and settled in Pendleton County in 1856, when he married the following year and engaged in farming near what is now Boston Station, which pursuit he still follows. A. B. Colbert was the eldest of nine children, of whom six are still living; he was reared and educated in Pendleton County, and for many years was engaged in school teaching. Later on he studied civil engineering, and in August 1886, he was elected county surveyor of Pendleton County, which office he still holds. He was married, March 22, 1887, to Miss Florence L., daughter of A. J. Arnold, a prominent stock dealer of Pendleton County. Mr. Colbert is prominently identified with the interests of the Democratic Party, and is an active politician in Pendleton County.
