CAMPBELL is the third son living, born to Richard and Nancy (Phillips) Campbell, of North Carolina, who came to Kentucky in 1814, and first settled near Lexington, but the following year removed to Oldham County, where William A. Campbell was born February 12, 1837, near Beard's Station. Richard Campbell was born in 1796, was a farmer, and died November 2, 1880. William A. Campbell has always made Oldham County his home, and was educated at it private schools. September 10, 1863, he married Miss Susan Buckner, daughter of Coleman and Lucy (Curd) Buckner, natives of Oldham County. To this marriage have been born four children: Richard, Lucy, May and Susie. Mr. Campbell is a progressive farmer, and the owner of 200 acres adjoining Buckner's Station, Oldham County.
