SIMEON HUFFMAN was born September 28, 1812, in Barren County (now Metcalfe), within less than one mile of his present residence. His father, Edward Huffman, was born in 1791 in Virginia, and was a son of Ambrose Huffman, who was born in Germany. Edward Huffman was married, December 5, 1811, to Nancy, daughter of William and Charity (Spencer) Corkran, of Barren County. From this union sprang Simeon, Mary (Baldock), William A., Catherine B. (Hamilton), Lucy J. (Harlan) and John. Simeon Huffman was married December 24, 1835, to Sarah, daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Bushong) Hamilton. To them have been born Margaret F. (Hamilton), Nancy J. (Hamilton), Thomas J., Edward J., Dosha (Huffman), Eliza E. (deceased), Sarah J. B. (Baldock), Simeon J., Virginia A. (Morgan) and Charles G. Mr. Huffman's educational advantages, were such as the early schools afforded, but by study he has obtained a fair English education. He is the owner of 200 acres of fine land, is a member of the Methodist Church, and in politics a Republican.
