He was born in Madison county, Ky., about 1808. It is believed that he was raised up to the ministry, in Viney Fork church, of which he was long pastor. He labored extensively in Estill, Madison, Lincoln, and Rockcastle counties. He succeeded Moses Foley as Moderator of the Tates Creek Association, in 1856, and continued in that position, a number of years. He departed this life Sept. 1, 1871.
