Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, ed. 8-B Lawrence County H.A. GEIGER was born in Boyd County, Ky., September 12, 1845, and is a son of W.L. and Esther (Davis) Geiger. He was educated at Beech Grove Academy, Ashland, and in 1866 engaged in stock-trading, and subsequently in milling, now owning two saw-mills in Carter County and one in Boyd County; he is also proprietor of a general store in Willard, Carter County, and one in Grayson, besides which he owns 3,300 acres of timber land in Lawrence County. In 1866 he married Miss Sophia Pollard, of Ashland, and by her is the father of eight children, viz: William H., James, Bert, Emma, Forrest, George, Cook and Esther.
