Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., 1887, Kenton Co. N. T. LINDSAY, a prominent lawyer of Covington, Ky., was born in Gallatin County, Ky., November 21, 1849, and is the third in a family of eight children born to Nicholas and Martha A. (Cave) Lindsay. Nicholas Lindsay was born near Frankfort, Franklin Co., Ky., and was a son of Vachel and Mary (Chrisenberry) Lindsay, natives of Virginia. He was a prominent tobacco manufacturer and merchant for a number of years. Mrs. Martha Lindsay was a native of Mason County, Ky., and a daughter of Daniel Cave. N. T. Lindsay was educated at Lexington, Ky., and at Ann Arbor, Mich., graduating in law at the latter place in the spring of 1876, and in the fall of the same year opened a law office at Covington, Ky. Mr. Lindsay is an able lawyer, and has been very successful in his profession. He is the present city prosecuting attorney of Covington. September 28, 1881, he married Miss Nellie Yager, of Covington, daughter of William E. and Sarah (Conner) Yager. One child has blessed this union--Nellie Grey.
