Wilson, who was born in South Frankfort, Ky., October 12, 1813, and was the youngest son of John and Elizabeth (Patterson) Wilson. He was a farmer, and died March 31, 1881. He was a member of the Baptist Church and had many warm friends in the community in which he lived. Cynthia and Joseph H. Wilson were married January 12, 1847, and three children blessed this union, of whom two are living: John R. and Samuel P. John R. Wilson was reared and still lives on the farm where he was born, and has farmed all his life, with the exception of one year, when he was with his brother in Harrodsburg, Ky., in the hemp business. He was married November 20, 1879, to Mary B. Patterson, of Mercer County, daughter of William B. and Mary A. (Hogue) Patterson. William B. Patterson was born in Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Mary A. Patterson, in Mercer County. Three children have blessed this union: Annie M., Samuel P. and Jessie M. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson are members of the Methodist Church South. Mr. Wilson owns 130 acres in Lee Precinct, Jessamine County, seven miles southwest of Nicholasville, on the Pleasant Hill Turnpike.
