Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 5th ed., 1887, Jessamine Co. FRANKLIN TAYLOR, born July 25, 1813, is the third son of Talton and Elizabeth (Wood) Taylor. He was married in November, 1833, to Sophina Land of Jessamine County, daughter of Henry and Ellen (Hosic) Land. At the age of thirty he removed from his native county of Madison, Ky., and settled in Jessamine County, where he mourned the loss of his beloved wife, September 13, 1876. To this union were born five children, of whom four are living: Leroy B., John M., Franklin P. and Elizabeth E., the name of the deceased one was William H. Mr. Taylor was next married, March 6, 1879, to Miss Calender Sanders of Madison County. Both are members of the Christian Church. Mr. Taylor has been a farmer all his life, and owns 190 acres in Sulphur Well District, Jessamine County.
