VANCE, JR., a farmer and stock trader of Henry County, was born in Oldham County, August 15, 1849, a son of Squire Robert W. Vance. He came to Henry County when an infant with his parents; was brought up on the farm, and from boyhood has followed farming and stock trading. In 1871 he settled where he now resides, and where he has 171 acres. February 15, 1870, he was married to Sue M. Hensley, daughter of George W. Hensley, of Clark County. Six children were born to their union: George W., John R., Thomas S., Charles A., Henry B. and Ferdinand C. Of these John R. is deceased. Politically Mr. Vance is a Democrat.
