Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Henry Co. WILLIAM B. MOODY was born in Henry County, Ky., April 8, 1852. He is the son of W. H. and Virginia Moody, who were the parents of nine children, of whom five are now living. Our subject was the second born, and is the eldest of the surviving five. He received his education in the common schools of Henry County, and attended for one year the Baptist Seminary, at Eminence, Ky. He then read law for a while under Judge Warren Monfort, now circuit judge of the Eleventh Judicial District of Kentucky, and completed his studies under Judge Joseph Barbour, of the Kentucky Supreme Court. He was admitted to the bar in October, 1874, and has been in active practice, ever since, at New Castle, Ky. In August, 1878, he was elected county attorney for Henry County, was re-elected in August, 1882, and held the office until 1886. In July, 1880, he purchased the Henry County Local, which he still continues to publish. On December 25, 1876, he married Miss Carrie P., daughter of Judge William B.
