Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Henry Co. WILLIAM BULLOCK was born in Sullivan County, Tenn., April 10, 1815, the eighth of seven sons and five daughters born to William and Magdaline (Hickman) Bullock. His father was a native of Shenandoah County, Va., moved to Tennessee in 1797 and settled in Sullivan County, where he died in 1856; he took an active part in the war of 1812, and was a member of the Lutheran Church, as was also his wife, who was a native of Pennsyvlania. Our subject learned the blacksmith's trade in early life, and was employed in the Beaver Creek Iron Works, Sullivan County. He came to Henry County, Ky., where he is now engaged in blacksmithing and farming, having 111 acres of land in a high state of cultivation. April 4, 1842, he married Phebe Malin of Henry County, who born him five sons: John, Henry, Isaac M., Charles W. and Levi J., all now deceased. Politically Mr. Bullock is a Democrat.
