Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Henry Co. W. W. BAILEY was born in Woodford County, Ky., February 22, 1823, the fourth of a family of six children born to William and Mary (Crutcher) Bailey. His father was born in Virginia in 1790, later moved to Kentucky, and located in Franklin County, but afterward moved to Woodford County, and engaged in agricultural pursuits. His father was Abraham, a native of Virginia. He died near Bridgeport in Franklin County. W. W. bailey was reared on a farm, and received a common English education. He had always engaged in farming and stock raising, and has 150 acres of fine land near Eminence. September 26, 1848, he married Miss Delia Simmons, of Meade County, Ky., who became the mother of four children, one living, Alice, and died in February, 1859. Mr. Bailey next married, in February, 1860, Mary A. Stephens, of Franklin County, and four children blessed this union, three living: Virginia, Earl, James M. and Robert L.
