Reprinted in Kentucky Explorer, Volume 10, Number 5 - October, 1995. p. 95. Harrison County. ROGERS, JOHN, JR. John Rogers Jr., was born March 14, 1792, in Culpeper Co., Va. His father, John Rogers, Sr. was born in England and came to the US before the Revolution. He afterward moved to Harrison Co., Ky., where he died in 1821, aged 73 years. His wife Nancy Grigg Rogers was born in Stafford Co., Va. John Rogers, Jr., came to Kentucky with his parents, and in 1817 went to St. Louis Co., Mo. Before coming to Missouri he married Mary, the daughter of Edmund Montjoy, of Bourbon Co., Ky., and by this marriage were born nine children, four sons and five daughters, only one of whom, John Rogers, of Pike Co., Mo. is now (in 1882) living. John R., Jr. lived in St. Louis Co. three years and came to Columbia in 1821.
