WEBB was born June 8, 1853, in Graves County, and is a son of J.G. and Mary (Dunbar) Webb. The father was born in Warren County, and about 1848 came to this county, where he still resides on his farm. James T. Webb spent the first eighteen years of his life on his father's farm, at which time he began teaching school, which he continued for five years. In 1876 he began the study of law with Judge R.H. Williams and was admitted to the bar in 1877, since which time he has been practicing with marked success. He was married in December, 1878, to Mrs. M.N. Johnston, of Graves County. They have had two children, one of whom is living. Mrs. Webb has two children by her first husband.
