D.C. TIMMONS, Graves County, is a son of John H. and Ann Eliza 
(Alderdice) Timmons, the father a native of Weakley County, Tenn., and
the mother of North Carolina.  John H. Timmons is a mechanic and 
millwright and lives at the present time in Weakley County, Tenn.  The
mother died in May, 1878.  D.C. Timmons, with his father, worked at
different mechanical pursuits until the age of twenty-two years, when
he engaged in business for himself as a house carpenter and millwright.
After following the above trades for several years, he commenced
farming in Weakley County, Tenn., and in 1879 came to Graves County, Ky.,
locating in Lynnville Precinct, where he purchased a small farm of
sixty acres, the beginning of his present home of 136 acres.  He was
married November 15, 1871, to Sarah C., daughter of Robert and Winny
McCulloch, by whom he had five children: J.B., Arthur S., Rhoda B., 
Aver L. and Winnie Ann.  Mrs. Timmons died in 1881, and the following
year Mr. Timmons was married to Cornelia A., daughter of William and
Jane Doublin; this this union have been born two children: Robert Lee 
and Clara May.  Mr. Timmons is a member of the Masonic fraternity,
filling the office of deacon at the present time in Boydsville, Tenn.,
Lodge No. 121.
