Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. J. G. RENAKER. Among the younger physicians of Grant County, Dr. J. G. Renaker, of Dry Ridge, takes high rank. While he is one of the youngest engaged in active practice, he is up among the leaders of the profession. Dr. Renaker is a Grant County boy, born and bred. He is a son of G. P. Renaker and Nancy Jane (Levesque) Renaker, and was born on his father's farm about one mile north of Dry Ridge, November 19, 1877. In the Renaker family there were five boys and two girls, all of whom are living excepting two. Dr. Renaker was raised on a farm and there learned the industrious and studious habits which G. P. Renaker instilled into all of his children. He attended the common school at Dry Ridge, and later the Covington High School. When only a boy he had an ambition to study medicine and became a physician. He attended the Louisville Medical College and graduated in March of 1898 at the head of the class of that year, receiving a gold medal for his proficiency in nervous diseases, and also one for his thorough knowledge of Materia Medica. After leaving school well equipped for the battle of life in his chosen profession, he returned to his old home, Dry Ridge, and hung out his shingle. He has met with fair success and is now one of the leading physicians in that vicinity. Dr. Renaker is an excellent young man and is ambitious to do the best he can in life. He is a staunch Democrat and a member of the Red Men's Lodge at Dry Ridge. His continued success in his profession is reasonably assured.
