Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. J. H. MUSSELMAN, JR., or Harris, as he is commonly called, is the youngest son of J. H. Musselman, Sr., and of Elizabeth Lusby Musselman, and was born in the county of Grant, near the Owen line, Sept. 7, 1869. There were eight children in the family, six of whom are still living. Harris received his education in the common schools and followed the pursuit of farming all his life. His father is one of the largest taxpayers in the county, and is the largest land owner, having about 3,000 acres of fine land lying in the Keefer precinct, a great deal of which is yet virgin forest, and consequently very valuable. Harris, Jr., is a fancier of fine stock, and has a large number of specimens of fine Southdown among his flock of sheep, and many beautiful Shorthorns roam with his herds. He is industrious, sober, and has always been exceedingly well liked wherever he is known. In politics he is a Democrat and is one of the best party workers in his precinct. He has never asked for an office, and probably never will. He was married to Miss Carrie Vanleuven, of Williamstown, May 4, 1899, and they live very happily and contentedly on his farm three miles south of Mason.
