Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. JAMES W. KENNEDY. One of the best men who live in the good old county of Boone is James W. Kennedy. Grant county can almost claim his as a citizen, as he operates at Corinth in this county one of the biggest and best country stores of which we have any knowledge. His Corinth store is in the building so long occupied by Joe Horner, and is very centrally located. Mr. Kennedy, in fact, bought Mr. Horner out and succeeded him in business. His store is a general country store, and he carries in stock in a very large and well selected line of merchandise and is an up-to-date merchant in every respect. Mr. Kennedy lives at Union, in Boone county, and has a lovely home and always has the latchstring out for the stranger who is passing his way. His children are all grown and married, and he and his most excellent wife live in peace, quiet and plenty at the old home in typical Kentucky style. Mr. Kennedy had but recently been nominated by the Democrats of his county for the office of Representative in the next General Assembly of Kentucky. He won the nomination in a hotly contested battle. He will make one of the best Representatives in the next General Assembly, and Boone county will be proud of her selection. Mr. Kennedy is a farmer of the up-to-date class and a patron of husbandry. He has been for many years a rehandler of tobacco, and each year buys and ships to the market a large purchase. He is very popular at his home and deserves to be. Kennedy Horner = Boone-KY http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/kybiog/grant/kennedy.jw.txt
