Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. J. M. HARRISON. Grant County has always been fortunate in having an honest Fiscal Court and well managed county affairs. There has never been a scandal in connection with the management of her fiscal affairs in all of the eighty-one years of her history. The reason for this is patent. She has always elected her best sons, true, tried and honest men, to attend to her fiscal affairs. J. M. Harrison belongs to that class of citizens. One of the young men of the county who has the universal respect and confidence of the people. He is a son of R. E. Harrison and Mary (Hill) Harrison, and was born in Grant County March 21, 1862. There were five children in the family. Young Harrison grew up on the farm with the same opportunities and advantages that the average country boy possesses. His father and all of his kins people were Democrats, and John was rocked in a Democrat cradle, and has been a loyal party man ever since. On February 4, 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Katie Ruhall. To this union three children have been born, all boys. Mr. Harrison was elected a member of the Fiscal Court in 1897, and is serving his first term. He is a worthy citizen and an honest man.
