Kentucky: A History of the State, Perrin, Battle, Kniffin, 4th ed., 1887, Garrard County. REV. JAMES E. CROW was born November 29, 1814, in Pulaski County, Ky., where he grew to manhood. In 1841 he removed to Lincoln County and in 1844 located in the northwestern part of Garrard County where he still resides. He is the son of Samuel Crow, whose offspring were Samuel, Thomas D., George, Sarah, Robert R., John T., James E., Polly (Pascal), William and Cyrus. James E. married Eleanor Robinson, of Boyle County, and their children are James T., Delitha (deceased), Samuel (killed in the Union Army), Jalila (Scott), Sarah (Spoonamore), Susan (Dickerson), Polly (Larrimore) and Rebecca (Mantz). Mr. Crow is a minister in the Christian Church, with which he has been connected for over forty years. He was an old line Whig and a Union man, but is now a Republican and a prohibitionist.
