Kentucky: A History of the State, Perrin, Battle, Kniffin, 4th ed., 1887, Garrard County. WILLIAM H. CONN was born July 24, 1853, and was reared a farmer. His father J. T. Conn, was born March 10, 1822, in Garrard County, and has been twice married: first to Miss Lizzie Yakey, who became the mother of nine boys and two girls; and secondly, to Miss Virginia Barker, who also bore nine boys and two girls. J. T. Conn is the owner of 700 acres of good, productive land. In religion he is a Presbyterian and in politics a Democrat. The grandfather of William H. Conn was John Fields Conn, who was born in Washington County, Va., came to Kentucky in an early day, settled on a farm, married Elizabeth Faulkinor (who bore him five boys and five girls) and died in 1839, aged fifty-five years, a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. William H. Conn was born in Garrard County, has principally followed farming and in 1870 married Miss Penelope Pocahontas Barker, who has born him the following children: J. P., Mary, Lillie W., William W., Mike Owsley, Lillie Price and Penelope Pocahontas Barker Conn. In religion Mr. Conn is a member of the Reformed Church, and in politics is a Democrat.
