Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 5th ed., 1887, Franklin Co. ALEXANDER W. MACKLIN was born in Franklin County, Ky., August 10, 1844, and is a son of A. W. and Jane (Macklin) Macklin. A. W. Macklin, the subject of this sketch, was reared on a farm, and was educated at the common schools. In November, 1869, he married Miss Anna Bedford, daughter of Hillery Bedford (deceased). To the union of Mr. and Mrs. Macklin have been born two children: Jennie and Bedford. Mr. Macklin owns about 600 acres of farming land and is principally engaged in the raising of Durham cattle and trotting horses and Berkshire hogs. He is a member of the Baptist Church.
