Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, ed. 8-B, 1887 Fleming County THOMAS M. FLEMING is a native of Fleming County, Ky., and is a son of Charles M. Fleming, whose father, William P. Fleming, came from Virginia many years ago, died at Frankfort while a member of the Legislature, and in whose honor the county was named. Thomas M. Fleming followed farming until 1868, when he engaged in the livery business at Flemingsburg. In 1869 he married Miss Pattie Hendrick, daughter of William H. Hendrick, of Fleming County, and to this union have been born four children: Fannie, Addie, William H. and Charles M. Mr. Fleming is a member of the I.O.O.F., and in politics is a Democrat.
