Lawyers and Lawmakers of Kentucky, by H. Levin, editor, 1897. Published by Lewis Publishing Company, Chicago. Reprinted by Southern Historical Press. p. 78. Fayette County. AYLETTE BUCKNER, brother of the foregoing and son of Richard A. and Elizabeth Buckner, was born in Green county, Kentucky. He obtained a good education, and under the direction of his father pursued the study of law. Admitted to the bar at Greensburg, he successfully engaged in practice in Kentucky for some time. He represented his native county in the general assembly and his district in congress, 1847 to '49. He made the race for the succeeding term, but on account of his free-soil views was defeated. He removed to St. Louis, where he remained until about 1864, when he returned to Lexington. His health was then broken and permitted him to practice only at intervals. He died at the home of his brother in Lexington. Buckner = Green-KY MO http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/kybiog/fayette/buckner.a.txt
