SOSH was born in Breckinridge County, Ky., Oct. 10, 1832. His father, John Sosh, was born in Spain, in 1792, and came to America when thirty years of age, and settled in Breckinridge County, where he was married to Mrs. Elizabeth Sutton. J. M. was the fourth of their seven children. He was married Dec. 6, 1850, to Elizabeth L. Bratcher, a native of Breckinridge County, born April 5, 1833. They have three children--Richard A., born Jan. 19, 1853; George L., born July 1, 1855; Walter S., born Dec. 10, 1859. Mr. Sosh is by trade a blacksmith and wagonmaker. He came to Daviess County in 1867, and is working at his trade a mile and a half west of Owensboro. He served in the late war in the Twenty-first Kentucky Regiment, U. S. A., thirteen months; was in the battles of Columbus, Franklin and Nashvill, Tenn. He was discharged at Victoria, Texas, in 1865. He is neutral in his political views.
