LOUIS RIGHTMEYER was born in Pennsylvania in 1825, and lived there till twenty-one years of age. He then moved to Evansville, Ind., and lived two years, when he enlisted in Captain Walker's Company, Second Indiana Infantry, and served a year in the Mexican war; was with General Taylor in the three days' fight at Buena Vista. After the close of the war he returned to Evansville. He was married Jan. 1, 1850, to Matilda Meissner, a native of Saxony, Germany, born in 1832. They have nine children--Margaret, Robert, Emma, John, Catharine, Elam, Eli, J. H., William S. Mr. Rightmeyer has 102 acres of fine land five miles west of Owensboro. Politically he is a Democrat.
