He came to Daviess County in 1875, and settled on a farm five miles east of Owensboro, where he owns 100 acres of well-improved land. He also owns 160 acres above and seventy-five acres below Owensboro. He was married June 10, 1872, to Nannie Hayden, a native of Daviess County, born March 11, 1852. Five children have been born to them, only four now living--George H., born Oct. 22, 1875; Thomas C., March 31, 1877; Mary V., Nov. 22, 1879, and Simeon W., Dec 11, 1881. Mrs. Osborne is a member of the Catholic church, and Mr. Osborne of the Christian. Mr. Osborne's father, John W. Osborne, was born in Charlotte County, Va., Feb. 4, 1806, and died Jan. 10, 1860. His mother, Selina W. (Walton) Osborne, was born in Mason County, Ky., May 4, 1819, and died Aug. 18, 1858. They had a family of five children--Thomas J., Mary F., S. W., Albert and John W. Mrs. Osborne's father, George S. Hayden, was born in Washington County, Ky., and died in Daviess County. Her mother Mary F. (Birch) Hayden, was born in Nelson County, Ky., and is now a resident of Daviess County. Of a family of thirteen children eleven are now living.
