NELSON was born in Shelby County, Ky., Feb. 12, 1825. She was married in 1842 to Henderson Nelson, a native of the same county, born in 1815. In 1859 they moved to Tennessee and lived near Memphis five years. They then came to Daviess County, and purchased the farm of ninety-seven acres, where the family now lives, one mile west of Owensboro. Fourteen children were born to them, ten now living--Margaret (Mrs. Samuel Veneble), Nannie, Emma (Mrs. R. H. Robertson), Mathew, Henderson, Mary, Jack, Virginia L., W. M., and Minnie.
