L. A. McLEAN was born in Logan County, Ky., March 23, 1826.  He came to 
Daviess County when twenty-three years of age, and worked on a farm two 
miles from where he now lives till 1858.  He was married April 6, 1858, 
to Ann E. Stowers, a native of Daviess County, born in 1838.  After his 
marriage he moved on to the farm where he still resides, on Pleasant 
Ridge, four miles south-west of Owensboro, and where he has 212 1/2 
acres of well-improved land.  To Mr. and Mrs. McLean were born six 
children, four now living--William, born in March, 1859; George, Jan. 
11, 1864; Chapman, Jan. 12, 1870, and Nina, June 7, 1874.  Mrs. McLean 
died in October, 1877.  Politically Mr. McLean is a Democrat.
