CHRYSOSTOM McDANIEL, born in Knottsville Precinct, May 27, 1841, is a son of Ephraim and Anna (Statim) McDaniel. His father was a native of Nelson County, Ky., and an early settler of Daviess County. His early education was received in the log school-house. He was reared a farmer and now owns a fine farm of 155 acres five miles northeast of Knottsville. He was married Jan. 24, 1865, to Mary F., daughter of Richard Head, and a native of Daviess County. Of their four children, three only are living Sarah Alice, James L. and Raymond. Mr. McDaniel's father died in 1877. He is the fifth of seven children, only four now living--Mary (now Mrs. Samuel Raley), John, Martha (now Mrs. Isaac Lindsey) and the subject of this sketch.
