MAY, born in Nelson County, Ky., Dec. 27, 1815, is a son of John W. May, a native of Virginia, who brought his family to Daviess County in 1820, and settled in Knottsville Precinct. Mr. May is the only one left of a family of twelve children. His father kept a tavern in an early day on the place where our subject now lives which is ten miles east of Owensboro, on the Hardinsburg road. He has been married three times and is the father of six children. He is a member of the Baptist church and the Masonic fraternity.
